We were following another training program, but it simply didn't work for our...read moreWe adopted our Border Terrier Gussie at 8 weeks and by week 12 felt we had failed completely. We were following another training program, but it simply didn't work for our energetic pup. We couldn't walk through the living room without having our ankles shredded, and outside walks were a disaster. A memorable moment was her winding the leash around my ankles three times and then jumping up to bite the seat of my pants, all in front of 16 floors of verandas full of a laughing audience. Having visitors was out of the question. We were literally in despair!Then we found Doggy Dan and began using the 5 Golden Rules. It seems like an exaggeration but by the second day we saw changes and by the end of the first week she was a different dog. Without any "tricks" or tons of treats, just two weeks into the program, she is a well-mannered joy to be around. She is confident and happy, walks easily on the lead, and doesn't gnaw the flesh off our ankles! We had company last night and after a few time-outs for jumping up to the coffee table, she played happily with a toy by our side.How can we thank you, Dan, for your calming presence, your skill, and knowledge, and for understanding dogs and their humans so well? I cannot say enough how much we appreciate your training and we love watching the videos - always more to learn. Thank you from Chris, Richard, and most of all, wee Gussie.
